President’s Message Fall 2025

Welcome and salutations! My name is Jessica Wagner, and I am your new PASSA (Petroleum Accountants Society of San Antonio) President! I would also like to welcome Matt Milligan to the board, he is serving as Vice President. Rebecca Castro is also joining as Treasurer. Dan Hodgson will be moving into the Secretary role from Vice President. Big thanks to Kirk Foreman, who has led the San Antonio society for several years as President and is finally getting a chance to take a step back. He is definitely still around to help support us as a society, and will be serving as our national Board liaison as well as serving as Joint Interest chair. I have some big shoes to fill, and I am excited for the opportunity! Also a special thank you to David Garza, who served as President in 2019, then as both Secretary and Treasurer for multiple years. As we are gearing up for first meeting in September, I wanted to share some thoughts on what COPAS means to me. For me, I see COPAS as a place for community. Beyond networking, we are a community of oil and gas accounting professionals. We can support one another, and together we can solve big problems for the industry. I hope to build on this sense of community for the upcoming year, see you all in September!

President’s Message – May 2022

My January 2022 President’s message stated that I thought the “insanity was over”.  Well, as of May 4, 2022, the pandemic insanity is over.  Good riddance!  Hopefully we won’t have to deal with another pandemic for another 100 years. Today I think it is...

JAN 2022 President’s Message

The question I submitted in last July 2021 President’s Message was “Is the insanity over?” My answer to that today is “I think so.”  The question I ask now is “Where are we headed in 2022?” My crystal ball says, “the Oil and Gas Industry is on the rise...

President’s Message

Is the insanity over?  That is the question I keep asking myself.  This last year and a half has been unprecedented. In April 2020 oil prices and stock prices hit record lows.  The impact of that was companies going bankrupt and folks losing their...
